Safety at Every Step

Your pet is a member of the family, and we treat them as such. We start our safety measures before surgery with pre-anesthetic blood work and an exam to determine their health and establish an appropriate anesthetic protocol. Once we clear them for surgery, your pet receives:

  • An IV catheter providing fluids that keep them hydrated and regulate their blood pressure
  • Pain medication during and after surgery to minimize their discomfort
  • A specific technician to watch over them from induction to recovery
  • Extensive monitoring with advanced equipment that measures their vitals

Pet Endoscopy: An Alternative to Surgery

A recent addition to our hospital is our endoscope, a small rigid or flexible tube (we have both) with a tiny camera on the end and a mechanical “hand” that can grab foreign objects or take biopsy samples. An endoscope can be inserted into a body cavity such as the nose, mouth, or rectum or through small incisions. Endoscopy is a preferable alternative to surgery in some cases because it is minimally invasive and provides pets a less painful experience. However, we can only use it successfully for certain conditions. These include:

  • Foreign body removal
  • Exploratory procedures
